Friday 29th June 2012 I attended a show at eastbourne’s Bandstand on the seafront. A Michael Buble tribute by Shane Hampsheir and his band. Completely out of the blue, Shane announced that I was in the audience and encouraged the audience to persuade me to get up on stage!

Britain’s Got Talent star, Drew Cameron will be starring in this year’s Summertime Special in Clacton!!

“Drew Cameron sailed into Southend on sea naval and military club on Saturday evening with a huff and a puff and a fair wind behind him, having come off stage at a wedding in Brentwood some 45 minutes earlier.

Me being a yokel I had walked to the venue, arriving some half an hour prior, whilst not being a member I know the club quite well and the split room can be a little difficult to work too.

With an Audience who for the want of a spilt Tot or two could keel haul an act whilst sipping the remains.

Sitting waiting for Drew to arrive at the bar I surveyed the audience and with an mmm and thought; to get this audience within a few seconds of being on stage Drew would have to do something that would drive these people crazy – that would drive these people crazy and sure enough he did, reaching even the people in the last row of the split room.

These are the type of people who do not intentionally laugh but smile very sweetly.

As is often the case when you pressed for time the sound system decided to play a little difficult

However, with enduring patients from Drew, Gini the evenings Singer entertainer, Kay the entertainments manager and the audience, the sound system was sorted and worked perfectly for the rest of the evening.

Throughout Drew’s show, despite being held in chains on deck and his humor what I felt a tad close to a prevailing wind the audience nearly split the walls with their laughter at Drew’s impressions.

Although I never counted he was mobbed after and I swear I heard some of propositions from a Grey haired Granny or two.

Funny though, I am not so sure they knew who he was as they kept calling him Uncle Albert!”

Ere is me main man, that is me geezer Drew Cameron, bogging it up as me Ali G at the launch of Staines Council to rebrand the town Staines Upon Thames.

He was leading the staines massive whipping up a rebellion and was forceabley ejected from the proceedings by security. Wicked!!

At one of Drew’s shows, unknown to him, a woman laughed so much that after his show she passed away.
Drew didn’t know until the next day when he was honoured to have been asked to perform at her wake as a celebration of her life.

To most people, Drew is a brilliantly funny comedy impressionist. to others he is just a person with multiple personalities. But there are others who say doing accurate impressions of celebrities is a form of identity theft and should be locked up!!

It’s not unusual to have people crying with laughter at one of Drew’s    shows but one poor lady laughed so much that she later collapsed and died.

Drew didn’t know about this until he had a phone call the following day to be asked if he would perform at her wake in celebration of her life.

Although tragic, it was a huge honour for Drew and one which he will never forget!

To be an inspiration to young new talent must be one of the most rewarding aspects of someone’s life.

It seems I have been lucky enough to be that person to a young dancer who was appearing in the same pantomime as me.

We didn’t speak much but it seems that didn’t matter as she explains in a message to me …….

“you should be very happy with me at the moment…with this interview i had today, one of the questions they asked me was what inspired me to become an actress…and i said, i met some one in the pantomime i just did, cinderella, and he was the comedian buttons, and just watching him on stage with alot of confidence…just gave me the confidence….and he’s just inspired me to be more confidence and to just go for things, so this is what i’m doing now

and then they went, ahh, well he must be very proud of you and i said, well he doesn’t know this yet and laughed and they said i was a very sweet girl and i had a nice smile i was like..ok thanks lol

you gave me alot of confidence! lol seriously the very first few shows we did i was sooo scared…i never smiled..i just looked petreified…but then just watching you act and make jokes and make every one laugh….i duno just really inspired me”.

I haven’t heard from Mel in quite a while now but I hope she is still happy and confident!!

I caused quite a stir in Kent when I phoned up Romney Marsh FM radio station as David Beckham.

I posted  a humerous video on Youtube a three years ago and it’s had over half a million hits.

Most of the comments appear to be from Americans who use it to argue with one another and don’t get the humour and there are others who unbelieveably think it’s genuine.

cheesey balls comedy club

3rd March 2011 saw the beginning of hopefully a long history of the Cheesey Balls comedy club, held at Lock Stock and Barrel, Locks Heath, Southampton.

The show lasted for three and a half hours and was a big success!!!
